Production Shift Manager - Overnight Shift (Mail Processing / Manufacturing)

Direct Marketing Solutions (DMS) is seeking a supportive and positive Production Shift Manager to lead our overnight shift in a fast-paced mail processing and manufacturing environment! This role is perfect for a hands-on leader with strong team management and problem-solving skills who thrives in a production-driven setting.

Position Summary

The Production Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing 3rd shift operations to ensure productivity, quality, and safety goals are consistently met. This role requires a proactive manager who can inspire team members, address production challenges, and drive efficiency in a high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Analysis & Optimization

• Coordinates staffing and machine operation to meet current production schedul

• Recommend and implement solutions to improve efficiency and output.

• Schedules jobs on the machine

Team Training & Development

• Ensure all employees receive proper training for their roles.

• Partner with HR to create and monitor Individual Development Plans (IDPs).

Equipment Coordination

• Collaborate with the Equipment Maintenance Manager to resolve issues quickly.

• Escalate critical equipment delays to senior leadership as needed.

Performance Management

• Address performance issues in coordination with HR.

• Maintain accurate employee documentation and forward to HR.

Employee Engagement & Morale

• Monitor team morale and promote a positive, motivated work environment.

• Partner with HR to implement engagement strategies.

Evaluations & Career Pathing

• Conduct regular performance evaluations.

• Identify career growth opportunities and support employee development.

Qualifications

• Direct mail, postal operations, or manufacturing management experience strongly preferred.

• Ability to interpret written, oral, and schedule-based instructions.

• Strong leadership and team-building skills in a production setting.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems.

• Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed.

Schedule

• Sunday - Thursday | 10:30 PM - 6:30 AM

• Frequent overtime and weekend shifts as required by business needs.
