Production Shift Manager
Position Summary:
The Production Shift Manager is responsible for leading shift operations to ensure productivity, quality, and safety goals are met. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and a hands-on approach to managing people and processes in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions:
Performance Analysis & Optimization

Review and analyze daily and monthly production reports to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.

Recommend and implement actionable solutions to enhance individual and team output.
Team Training & Development
-
Ensure all team members are properly trained for their roles.
- Partner with HR to create and monitor Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for team members with identified skill gaps.
Equipment Coordination

Collaborate closely with the Equipment Maintenance Manager to address equipment-related issues promptly.

Escalate critical maintenance problems or equipment-related production delays to senior leadership as necessary.
Performance Management

Identify and address team performance issues in coordination with HR.

Maintain accurate and timely employee documentation, forwarding records to HR as appropriate.
Employee Engagement & Morale

Monitor team morale and engagement regularly.

Work with HR to implement strategies that promote a positive, motivated, and productive work environment.
Evaluations & Career Pathing

Conduct annual and scheduled performance evaluations.

Identify career growth opportunities for team members and collaborate with HR to secure training and development resources.
Qualifications:

Prior experience in direct mail, postal operations, or manufacturing management strongly preferred.

Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions and adapt to shifting priorities.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive and professional working relationships.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer systems.

Flexibility to work extended hours, including before or after scheduled shifts and weekends, as needed.

Schedule:
Monday-Friday 2:30pm-10:30pm or Sunday-Thursday 10:30pm-6:30am with frequent overtime on weekends as required based on business needs.
